I'm doing a Line 6 clinic!

Post by xCaptainx »

Hey guys! Sorry I havent posted this yet, wifey has the laptop most nights haha.

I'm doing a Line 6 HD500 clinic with my besties at The Rockshop in September!

http://www.rockshop.co.nz/news/clinics/ ... 2012-09-19

It's free, September 17th at Backbeat bar (above K Road Rockshop)

I'll be going through my patches I use live, why I've done certain things and also some tips and tricks with HD500 navigation and patch setup for making the HD500 easier to use in a live enviroment.

Anywho, should be a fun night. Hope to see some fellow Auckland Line 6 nerds! Sorry I couldnt make the gear fest, I was playing in Palmy!

Is this like an STD clinic, where you'll treat people who are too embarrased to go to their doctor after purchasing a Line 6 product?

Ok, crap joke... but I will make effort to attend, simply to support you, because it's awesome!

hahah thanks man.

In a word though; yes! SO many kids we tour/play shows with are rocking line 6 (which is awesome) BUT have horrible tone, haha. I'm going to go through a few basic principles when creating a decent metal tone, and then get into some nifty little tricks to make navigating the HD500 easier, and then some things I do with my patches that have totally opened up my use and confidence with the HD500.

Pretty excited about this, thanks so much for the support. Really looking forward to it!

Going through the patches I use for In Dread Response. Most of the learnings from them will be quite generic and applicable to all styles of music i.e. basic menu navigation, amp/cab deep editing functionality found in firmware 2.0, pros/cons of various usage (poweramp/cab, d.i, four cable method) basic fundemental ideas regarding certain effects and effect chains, and then assignment of multiple effects (or effect/amp parameters) to footswitches and expression pedals etc etc.

Necro-bump!

Sorry I havent bumped this much on here, I've been on tour throughout August and finished up in Sydney over the last 5 days. Had a blast and put the HD500 and L3M setup through its paces!

Spent tonight writing a clinic recap for Eds six string samurai site. I'll have my clinic patch up there after the clinic is done for anyone who is not in Auckland and cannot attend.

Would love to see some NZG faces there!

Yeah - if you missed the clinic or live in the wrong part of the country for it, here's Ross's summary: http://sixstringsamurai.co.nz/2012/09/1 ... the-recap/

Really well written!
