I agree with the rock2wlgn name. Considering the age of the acts and the probable audience, its a little weird 2 resort 2 txt spk more befitting 12-14 year olds.

well i think the other guys successfully covered reviews of what happened.

I was in the diamond pit about 5-10 metres from the front fence.

on night 1 Alice stole the show. Exceptional stage performance.
Lordi was better than I expected. Great entertainment. Though it was very much hard rock by numbers.
Kiss was classic Kiss. awesome atmosphere, but not much different to other shows of theirs I've seen.

on night 2 Whitesnake was the best I reckon. Doug Aldrich wiped the floor with all the other guitarists. Their performance was superb.
Poison was good. Great fun music, though I did find CC got a bit much.
Ozzy was Ozzy. what can you say. you can tell his singing and timing aren't quite up to what they used to be. But it wasn't from lack of trying, he puts a lot into his shows. But seeing him and Zakk on stage together was a dream come true.

All in all every one of the bands showed they are consummate professionals and true rock stars. It was what a rock show should be, Huge!. I got to see 5 bands that were some of the best bands in the world. I am so unbelievably stoked that I got to go. And I reckon it would have been worth the full ticket price.

Now I am utterly exhausted.

Heres a selection of pics I cleaned up.

Zakk was on top form, but personally his tone sounded over processed.. almost Van halen-ish, but trying to be heavier with that amount of chorus.. meh.
I think you've hit the nail there - Zakk just didn't sound like the Zakk I'm used to, and at the time I even thought "Eruption" at one point. I honestly reckon that he was playing a different set up for Ozzy's tunes than what he plays for BLS. His solos at the 2006 BLS gig were much cleaner sounding and "Zakkish", if that makes sense.
