ooh... nice call! a couple of years ago I made a concerted effort to bring back "super" (after seeing scooby doo I think).
not my biggest success I guess, but I still use it.
at the checkout, instead of saying thanks it's super etc.

I tend to use "marvellous", particularly at the checkout.

For a long time I thought, when I was at a checkout and the till flashed up the words "Tender Validation" I was being prompted to say something nice about the checkout operator who may have been feeling low on their self-worth scale that day. (they always seemed depressed) so I'd try to find something nurturing and empowering to say like "You look thinner today".
But it all seemed so fraught with danger because who knows what that particular checkout operators personal body image was and what if the girls on the other aisles heard me? What would that do to their equilibrium? Would they suddenly have to run to the toilet to regurgitate that snickers bar or would they head to the lunchroom and gorge themselves on twenty more.
That just seemed like too much responsibility to lay on a customer when all I wanted to do was buy a box of cadbury roses, condoms and a couple of motoring mags.
