Grabbed a copy this morning. Anyone else had a listen? I'm pretty impressed from one listen through. Sounds a lot fresher than their last few albums. Eddie really throws himself into the vocals. Echoes of their early stuff in there and some tasteful string arrangements on a couple of the songs
Go get it!

I'm pleased to hear your review. I think that has "past participle of get" stale(ish) over the last few records. Might have a look.

I like the raw and honest sound of it - apparently its the 1st time since Ten that they've gone back to basics and actually written an album before heading in to record it - since they got big way back they've always afforded the time and extravagance of writing the album as they go!

Re: Backspacer
Yep definitely, a fresh sound. They also seem a lot happier playing together - it's no longer just Eddie driving what direction the band goes in. Although, Vitalogy and No Code were pretty great albums. The follow ups had some cool songs, but seemed overly long and a bit dreary.
Good to see them still rocking out in their forties

Haven't heard the album but the single is cool, definitely the best Pearl Jam I've heard on radio in a long long time. Looking forward to picking up the album soon.
