Hurdy Gurdy.... some how... and I'm not entirely certain how mind you, an instrument that sounds like someone has shoved a nest of angry hornets into a goose with a kazoo bill and is randomly slapping the poor creature with an accordion.... Sounds amazing.

Yeah, I swear my heart totally paused!

I even clicked on the link, just in case I should actually give them a chance... and that was a big fat nope.
The older I get, the more disappointed in myself I become.

The really sad part is, that when I started this thread, this is exactly what I new would happen...people that post on the thread wouldn't bother reading it, and the few that did, don't think it's worth mentioning any bands because no one here would give a shit!

Never mind, as you were,
Like cholera said, most people can't resist to have a dig on NZMM.

And guitar forums are generally not the best place to discuss the music itself, the diversity in tastes are too wide. It's easier to get actual discussions going at the genre appropriate forums.

Anyway while we are at it, here are some NZ bands I like:

I support local bands, but fuck NZ music month.
+1,000,000.

I saw something extremely brilliant on Facebook. Basically it said don't go and spend 30 bucks on one of those stupid NZ Music Month shirts, go spend that money on a local bands merch or music. I really hate those shirts. I still get the impression this Music month scheme is kinda like saying "these guys are good....for a NZ band".
And it also reminds me of special olympics.

I know everyones ragging on the shirts but I gotta say, I got a 2007 NZMM month hoodie a while back (possibly 2007, details are hazy) and it's still un-ripped, dark black, completely functional. Those 3 year old kids in Zun-Chong provence, China sure make a durable product!
1935 Martin D-45, 1942 Gibson Southern Jumbo,1950 Fender Broadcaster, 1954 Fender Strat, 1958 Gibson Moderne prototype, 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard.
1958 Fender twin, 1965 Vox AC30, 1966 Marshall JTM 45, 1977 Dumble OD Special.
Big black garbage bag full of original Klon Centaurs and TS808s.

Ooh, I like it when it goes all droney from 5:12 onward. Reminds me of a favourite Nurse With Wound album called Salt Marie Celeste.
"Vince, have you ever tried playing an expensive bass?" - Polarbear.
"And isn't that the finest acoustic bass guitar feedback solo you've ever heard?" - Billy Moose.

Do I need to use my CC to make these tracks play?

And there you go, a band you hadn't heard of!

It's interesting that amachine can win the NZ metal award, and yet, I've been asking, no one I know has even heard of them!

Are all these bands still going, still gigging? If not, what are they doing instead?
