Elbow at the Powerstation

Post by MattH »

Anyone go and see them at the weekend?

Phenomenal live act. Very understated guitarist and tighter than a nun's proverbial.
All the gear... absolutely no idea...

Gutted not to go. Great band.

Although, Seldom Seen Kid aside, I've struggled to really get into their other albums that much.

How was Gav's voice live? Bet it was like butter pouring out the speakers. :crybaby:
Nothing to see here.

Nah, couldn't make it. Had an audience with the Pope.

Good concert, but more slow tempo songs than when they last played here in 2012. The singing was wonderful.

Yep. A chap called Alexander Wildwood and his mate on keys. They gave it a good crack, but it seemed like early days for them - the songs and arrangements needed a bit more polish, I'd say.

Who am I to talk, though - compared to me and my band, they were shit hot.

Elbow did a wonderful job. Beautiful Day, Lippy Kids and New York Morning were lovely. Wish I had gone on Sunday too.
