Ive seen a lot of bands step up onto a tour stage as support and discover their cool pub cred just doesn't translate to an arena....
Last night Devilskin tore the roof off the ASB arena as support for Slash. Those who know me will guess that Devilskins music is a bit heavier than my usual taste....Demon howls and all. This band transcends their stylistic roots and delivers a fantastic show.
The performance last night was as good as any major act Ive ever seen. Tight, slick, full on crazy, entertaining and musically proficient. With a showcase summing up at the Whisky in LA I think we might have a genuine Kiwi international success story on the way.
Slash was.....OK.
