Well, I wasn't sure where to post this, or even if it warrants posting, but I'm so chuffed with it that I decided to anyway

My S470 is now better than before.

Ash got me a DiMarzio "Breed" bridge humbucker (which is the closest production model to Andy Timmons' custom wound DiMarzio bridge pickup). As well as installing that, I got him to swap the standard 5-position switch for a StewMac "superswitch", wired up in such a way that instead of neck+middle, I get neck+bridge. I also now have a toggle switch to coil-split both humbuckers. - All for not very much dinero, too.

Unsurprisingly, the Breed is in a whole different class compared to the standard Ibanez "Powersound" pickup. More overtones and warmth and character, and so on.

The single coil sounds are pretty good too - especially with less than maximum gain

- and I finally have the bridge+neck combination, which is something I've loved ever since I first installed individual pickup switches on my first guitar.

Ooh, Tsuken is a happy chappy.

I guess I should do some sound clips

- but I don't have any "befores".
