Garghhhh I need new humbucker pickup rings...

Post by StrummersOfThunder »

So yamaha has crazy screw setup in their mounting rings so the dimarzio 36th won't match up with the two screw holes for the height adjuster screws. Why yamaha decided they needed two offset height adjusters on one side and one on the other I will never understand....
Frustratingly I have found one black humbucker mounting ring in my parts drawer. But it's pretty crap.
Anyone got a black set hanging around?

Hopefully the mounting hole spacing is the same as a normal humbucker ring, its not on my Gretsch :( They have the two screws on one side madness too... I ended up drilling an extra hole in mine and hiding that side under the pickguard ;)

I have some nice chrome steel ones for sale

The mounting holes thankfully are the same. 81mm x37mm.
Madness I know! And I was really looking forward to a beer and solder night tonight.

Perfection my dear friend. You bought a quality guitar and the high end models do allow you to determine the angle of the pickup.
When faced with quality, I recognise it every time.

No, they did not do that on the CMME models. So go on, the CMME models are of low quality then? :lolno:
