Re: Solder Free Guitar Wiring
This is such cool idea and so well executed, I almost want to buy a strat just so I can get one.
The older I get, the more disappointed in myself I become.

Solder free? Where's the fun in that? Looking forward to rewiring my Les Paul next weekend. Few hours to myself. Beer and some music. Luxury.

Sorry Molly, The fun is all mine with these. Hours and hours of soldering fun.Molly wrote:Solder free? Where's the fun in that? Looking forward to rewiring my Les Paul next weekend. Few hours to myself. Beer and some music. Luxury.
I tend to lay off the beers though. I struggle with solder burns enough as it is.

Matt, I can do basic wiring but the more complicated stuff... well I'm stuffed!!! Is there a market for something that is a bit more complicated than the standard wiring? Eg A strat loom that has one of the fancy 5 way switches, or pushpulls or dip switches - that gives you heaps of different options.

Re: Solder Free Guitar Wiring
For sure. I am working to get all of the basic stuff nailed first (each kit takes about a month of design time and more cash than I like to think about) and then I am going to work on fancy pants wiring. Super switches, push pulls etc will all feature in due time but I can not say when.AiRdAd wrote:Matt, I can do basic wiring but the more complicated stuff... well I'm stuffed!!! Re: Solder Free Guitar Wiring
I've have had a massive tone improvemnet by changing the wiring/pots/cap values on my jaguars and jazzmasters. Ash/adrian did it. That might be an idea? But probably limited appeal and it would be hard to do as wiring goes through the body and you wouldn't be able to do it as one kit.

Re: Solder Free Guitar Wiring
I have already had a think about this one. It will be easy enough to do but expensive and like you say limited demand, but in saying that there is also very little competition. It will be on the to do list if the demand for Jazzmasters keeps growing like it is at the moment.AiRdAd wrote:I've have had a massive tone improvemnet by changing the wiring/pots/cap values on my jaguars and jazzmasters. Re: Solder Free Guitar Wiring
Quick thanks Matt. Just used your wiring kit in a tele project I just did with the kids. Works like a champion.
Was feeling a guilty enough "letting" my kids to do all the sanding. Very pleased I didn't need to get my 8yo daughter to do any soldering!
