my theory, do what you like, its your guitar Danny. In reality how good would resale be anyway?
True - Once I've done the paintjob I'd never sell it. I'm just trying to get my head around the best way to proceed with it. I've been contemplating doing something for months, and have got nowhere with it, so want to put it out to the NZG massive for consultation!!! hahahaha

I'd maybe just paint the top, keep the sides and back natty. That PG could work/has worked nicely. Pickup options are awesome, go for it. Leave the neck you animal!

Interesting your measurements show that it will intonate perfectly. More than one experienced luthier confirmed it wouldn't when i got it looked at. Also the pickup spacing will be "off". Anyway, your guitar, your call.

Its transparent black, not brown btw ;-)

I learned that bridge positioning is determined by neck length (nut-12th fret-saddles). Not as simple as just changing a neck.

Thanks - I'll do a double check on the neck scale again - just to make sure.

Transparent black over a brown body still looks brown - just a darker brown :-)

If you're refinishing it anyway, you can move the bridge to the correct position, and move the pickup if its in the way....
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

I think it's super cool as is, what about putting on a thicker set of strings and tuning it to E standard an octave down like a bass 6?

warmoth do conversion necks..I can't for the life of me figure out how they make it look so easy to just whack a different scale length on there, but they do. But they are only using bodies that are set up to 25.5 scale.

I have done a swap from a 25.5 to a 24.75 by using a 24fret (24.75) neck and basically cutting off the last 2 frets and reshaping the heel....obviously nothing at all to do with what you want to do though

Utter rubbish!
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.
