Has anyone ever done a major rewire of a guitar with the knob positions changed?

I have two guitars, a Rick and a Korean 335. Both have a completely different layout of the knobs, and I don't particularly like either layout.

I'm thinking about rewiring both of them so the top pair of knobs are bridge volume and tone (with the volume closest to my picking hand) and the bottom pair are neck volume and tone.

Has anyone else tried this, and did you like it? Did you have to switch it back to sell your guitar?

I've done similar things, and have always changed back to stock when the guitar was sold (for either myself or others). The biggest worry with the Rick would be the disconnected blend knob which some Rickenbacker players are mad about, but others not so much.

TL,DR: If it's reversible then do it and if you sell it then change it back to stock.

1) made way more sense and I liked it
2) had to switch it back to sell
