PRS SE upgrades
Hi all,
I've had my SE Custom Semi Hollow (hardtail, 2008) for quite a while now, and I love it. It's completely stock, but I reckon it's true potential could be realised with an upgrade or two. Question is, where do I start?
Obviously I don't want to spend crazy money, certainly not to the point where I may as well upgrade the entire guitar! But all suggestions and advice is welcome and much appreciated. Cheers!

Re: PRS SE upgrades
the only thing you could do is Pick Ups. maybe try to find some vintage bass and treble pick ups off an old PRS.
There are still some that think the neck PU is moved to accommodate the extra frets which only proves they cannot detect the difference in length of each.

Re: PRS SE upgrades
and perhaps a push/pull pot to go with the new pickups, to spice things up a bit

Re: PRS SE upgrades
by Proper PRS I`m thinking that means an old one.
I had a look at a Mira the other day. would be hard to blindfold between an SE and the "non Core" models made these days. imo of course.

Re: PRS SE upgrades
possibly, but I doubt the wood these days is better than the wood from 30 years ago. but, the cheaper non core stuff is a bit of a step down compared to the older stuff. before all this core vrs non core BS

I was thinking pickups, but not too sure about vintage PRS ones, maybe quite hard to come by? I've been looking at Seymour Duncans and the like, but will have a look around.

Re: PRS SE upgrades
I buried my wife several years ago. With the funeral expenses and what I've spent on PRSs since then, I'm still well ahead financially of what a divorce would have cost me...Sinbad343 wrote:I can thank you now - I've been looking into getting a divorceConway wrote:Buy a proper PRS.

Re: PRS SE upgrades
Erm...
Yeah ok.
Anyway.
Individual saddle tailpiece, locking tuners; friend of mine has p rails + triple shots in his.
If it were me, I wouldn’t go the triple shot route - just [other] decent pickups and a push pull or two for a couple options.
