Was this the body/neck you were working on when I went to the shop that time? If it is, it looks kinda ugly with the headstock fully finished in white.. what a waste...

He asked for agathis? yeech.

Yeah. He has asked for quotes on two more this week. He wanted me to do the Ken Lawrence logo and inlays too. He painted and assembled it himself, which is why the super expensive tuners are upside down.

It would be worth buying and putting together properly, I reckon Those tuners cost $235 alone. And the EMGs would be $475 new. The body is Fiji Kauri which is an agathis, but not the same agathis that samicks are made of.

I'm tempted to comment on the upside-down tuners. I probably should just stay away...

Shizzle, he just dropped the Buy Now to $1k.

Someone should nab it. I'll put it together properly, make sure his finish is worthy and whatnot. It would rule. The hardware/kit alone cost him more than $1200. He chose the best parts ever made for this project. The pickups are $400+

That looks very nice, but would look better with natural finish like Hetfield's. Is that where my EMGs ended up? How heavy is agathis? I'm suprised to see bolts holding the neck on. Any particular reason for that Adrian?

He specifically asked for it to be bolt-on. I don't know why. Hetfield's aren't.

Fiji Kauri is about the same weight as alder on average. This would be a bit lighter than a Gibson equivalent. I still have your EMGs for a black bogan machine.

I suppose a skilly through the stick-out bits and a colour coat etc.... but no, it hasn't got a trussrod cover and the tuners are upside down. Too much effort! ;)
