if you are ever in bangkok...........
i know it sunds real dodgy but you just got to try this place..........
http://www.therockpub-bangkok.com/
tuesday night i went there for a late beer as i had just landed and i saw the place on the way to the hotel i was staying at (ok it was two doors away so it was odds on i was going to pay the place a visit). the band that were on did a lot of ozzy, maiden and some dokken, even a couple of ratt songs...............hair metal heaven, and they were pretty bloody good
and on thursday night (i really wanted to make sure tuesday wasnt a fluke before i posted here.........cough) and the first up covers band were sensational with a flawlessly (and i mean super flawlessly) played set including colorado buldog, addicted to that rush, technical difficulties, rising force, black dog, communication breakdown, lights out, rock you like a hurricane and a whole heap more. the guitarist even did a vinnie moore cover while singer had a rest.
the place itself is pretty much slap bang at the bottm of the stairs from the ratchatewi mts station, so not that far from the major hotels. inside it aint flash but it serves beer, there are no hassles (from the two visits i made) and the music...well when was the last time you saw a covers band do gilbert / lynch / malmsteen / vh covers?
so if you are ever in bangkok has really top notch rockk bands

Oh real? I was at Bangkok two weeks ago, amazing city to visit.
Didnt know that club existed, would of checked it out.
Another recommended activity is to visit Siam Ocean Aquarium (its an aquarium in Siam Paragon mall)
Go shopping at MBK mall.
Go on a tuk tuk. Much scarier than a rollercoaster ride because there is a very real chance you will actually die

We stayed in a nice hotel that was only one street away from the infamous Nana Plaza. Unless you go looking for some, its actually rather not as obvious IMO.BG wrote:Then there's soi cowboy....

Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.
