Got the Back in the 'rei With No Jam, No Band Blues
LOCATION = Whangarei/Northland
WANTED = Good natured musos with an appreciation of blues/roots music who are primarily interested in having fun.
After taking a couple of years of playing my guitar I've "past participle of get" right back into it and playing every night. But after a while it gets tiresome playing with yourself. I'm looking for some other guitarists/bass/keys/drums/fiddles/banjo/whatever to meet up and have a jam with the goal of forming a blues/rock&roll band.
I like to play mostly a blues/rock/jazz/reggae style mix but I'm open to giving almost anything a go. About 12 years of experience (no real gigging experience, just playing parties and muck-around jams etc), got my own gear and transport. I also do a little song-writing and have a 4-track that I use regularly to make my own lo-fi creations - would be keen to get some other instruments involved.
If you have a band looking for a guitarist I'd also be interested to try out - can play most styles and genres.
So if you're into some old-thyme, good time music send me a PM or hit this thread.

Like me!
I have to laugh when people refer to Whangarei as "the rei". It really makes it sound like a hip place. Either I'm missing something or "rei" means "shithole that is fast becoming overrun by wannabe gangsta fuckwits".

Yeah, I don't actually call it that in everyday speak - just thought it sounded better in the context of my blues. Sometimes my friends and I will refer to it as 'da rei' in mockery of the wannabe gangsta fuckwits.Basket Case wrote:I have to laugh when people refer to Whangarei as "the rei".
