Re: Guitarists for recording
It sounds sweet. I could imagine Steve Vai all over that track.
With Sting singing.

Re: Guitarists for recording
New track advancing well, just struggling with one riff. Also cleaned up the other track pretty nicely.
Anyone got tips on when you can't quite nail a riff properly? Maybe Im forcing it too much.
Anyways, Darcy might hit you up in a couple of weeks re:acoustic electric, thinking I might get away from the heavy stuff for a couple of weeks and record the rest of the more softer numbers.

Practice it... SLOWLY. Really slow. Then gradually build up speed unitl you can not only play it, but can't play it wrong.rob_on_guitar wrote: Anyone got tips on when you can't quite nail a riff properly?

Re: Guitarists for recording
I just wish I could play half as well as I want to.
I restrung the guitar this morning, and recorded my first take. No prelisten or anything. And now ten takes later, I still can't string anything together.
Here's the first raw, unedited take. Some good things. Some bad things. Some fun things. Some dumb things.

Re: Guitarists for recording
dude some of the stuff in the first half of the song is awesome...some really cool sounding runs. A couple of the melodies in the last 1/4 are sweet as well, you probably just needed to repeat them a bit instead of widdling offNZRS-Dave wrote:I just wish I could play half as well as I want to.

Re: Guitarists for recording
That's the problem, I have cool ideas, but not enough to string together. And I can never play them the same twice.
So I basically sh1t my fingers at the fretboard and hope something sticks.
