Solo Acoustic Artist Available for Support slots/Gigs(Welly)

Post by markmathews81 »

Hi there,

I'm a Muscian from the UK and I am currently living in Wellington. I'm booking and playing gigs in and around town and wondered if there was any opportunities out there to play?

I am a solo acoustic act and so can either play on an acoustic night, or as my music is quite up beat I have also played gigs as the opening act for full bands and established artists.

You can listen to some tracks here:

www.myspace.com/markmathews
http://soundcloud.com/mark-mathews

Below is my Bio:

Mark has the ethos of writing decent pop tunes in the same ilk as The Beatles, Small Faces, Smokey Robinson and Oasis. Nominated for two Indy Music awards, Supporting BABYSHAMBLES, FRANK TURNER, THE DRAYTONES and LUKE TOMS and playing hundreds of gigs and festivals across the U.K, India and Australia, are some of Marks achievements to date. Gaining exposure on TV/Radio and in Print, not least being named as one of the top three unsigned artists in the London METRO newspaper, Mark has proved he has found critical acclaim for his music. In 2009 Mark agreed a deal to get his music out to a wider audience and it can now be heard across the U.K through various instore radio stations

I look forward to hearing from you

Welcome Mark.
Had a quick listen to one track and i'm really impressed!

I'd say you probably won't get gigs directly through here but stick around a bit and get to know some of the wellington based guys. I'm sure that will lead to some gigs.
I reckon you'd be a good fit with polar bears band, Throw it to the fire.

Hey Man, thanks so much for the reply and glad you like the tune! Yeah, I'm trying to get gigs from everywhere and anywhere really. Played at Southern Cross and at Library tonight and another at Mojo Cafe on Friday but want to keep the momentum going so just letting everyone know I am around and available!

cheers

True that.

I'll give you a yell when we've next got a slot free, mate. Check out the acoustic lounge at San Fran bathhouse on Wednesdays and the various open mic nights around town.
