Hard rock band needs lead guitarist

Post by Ghostsinger »

Hola,

Lead guitarist wanted to join an Auckland based, originals hard-rock band. Someone who knows when to pull back and when to light the fuse.

We (guitarist and drummer) are in our 30's and have a wide selection of influences ranging from Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Led Zep, Baroness, Tool, GNR, The Police, Incubus and are open to most styles. Currently working on a bunch of instrumentals, and then would look to get a lead guitarist and vocalist into the mix.

Currently rehearsing in East Tamaki.

How often do you practice?
Are you looking to be a serious band or just fun and a few gigs now and then?
How 30's is 30's (just about to run out of my 30's)?

I'd have to tune up some of my guitars, I predominantly play death metal, but do like my rock as well, so I might be able to offer something to the mix.
The older I get, the more disappointed in myself I become.

Bollocks DM!

Don't listen too him OP. he's a very young, almost out of his thirties and don't let the death metal bollocks put you off.
He's a fine guitarist who could handle pretty much anything with enthusiasm.

None of that narrow focus that his description of hisself might suggest. (as it does to me...)

;)

Ha ha, thanks for the recommendation...

Ok, young as in I definitely haven't grown up yet, handle pretty much anything in that the death metal is just a preference and not an indication of ability/range and I really am enthusiastic (when I can be bothered).
The older I get, the more disappointed in myself I become.

not forgetting you could build an entire stage show around that amp, including a drum riser on the top and several dwarves worshipping it :)
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

Oooo worshipping dwarves, would just need a giant replica of Stonehenge and it would be perfect... I'll draw one on a napkin and see if I can get it made up.

Can you play like Edge?
A sure cure for seasickness is to sit under a tree.

Intentionally, no. Mainly because I don't want to sound like Coldplay.

We vote DM /thread

I may steal him for my rock band though, he has an amp that would look right.

Hey DM,

We practice once a week at the mo. We're mainly doing this for fun, but definitely with a view to gig and possibly record. I'm 33 and the drummer is 35, neither of us are ageist haha.
