Anyone have any good Weta tabs? Mainly "Let It Go" and "Got The Ju" is what I'm keen to learn but the only tabs I can find seem wrong.... And I'm terrible at figuring out songs!

These are the ones I have found:

well
I listen to the CD
I am listening to track #2 off geographica

if the key is Bb major :D

we have Cm, Ebmaj and F7

potentially the bit with the vocal I like (approx 3:00) is C to F. hear that the change is on the and of 1, not the 2.

it's quite a good rock album this. possibly Sam Browne, HG and Rocky might of have this stuff in their covers band bag so they might have some more ideas
might be a 5 string bass to or at least a de-tuned one

Sounds right to me.

Intro sounds something a bit like this (other guitarist plays an F power chord so essentially it's F/Fsus4)

eb-6-6-6-6-7-6-7-6---6-6-6-7-6-7-9------------------
Bb-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7---7-7-7-7-7-7-7------------------
Gb--------------------------------------------------------
Db--------------------------------------------------------
Ab--------------------------------------------------------
Eb--------------------------------------------------------

The 'chorus' (not the heavy uptempo bit) is a bar of F/Fsus4 and a bar of Cm7

eb--6---------------7---7---6---------------------------------
Bb--7---------------7---7---7---------------------------------
Gb--6---------------6---6---6------------------------------
Db------------------------------------------------------
Ab-------------------------------------------------------
Eb---------------------------------------------------------

Cm7
eb---4------------------0----------------------------------
Bb---5---------------4------------------------------------
Gb---4----------------------4--------------------------
Db--(6)---------------------------------------------------
Ab---(4)-----------------------------------------------------
Eb--------------------------------------------------------

These sound close as but I'm just working them out as I go so they probably aren't 100%. Can do more if you like :)

I put the brackets around the Cm7 in case anyone wants to play the whole chord but it sounds like they only play the highest three strings.

The more I listen to Calling On the more I think it's in Eb standard tuning rather than standard. Working on Let it Go now...

Update: I'm 99% sure it's in Eb. Editing my last post so it's now in Eb tuning.

Db------6-6-6---4-4-4-4-4-------------------------------------------------------
Ab------4-4-4---4-4-4-4-4-------------------------------------------------------
Eb----------------2-2-2-2-2-------------------------------------------------------

And the riff during the 'Life.... suffocating!' (then back into the above riff)

Let it Go
track 1 Geographica album

bridge (2:25) C Eb F Eb

main - bass is pumping C (probably E-F to lead into downbeat)
pre chorus C Bb F
Chorus Bb

in the theory section borge talked of using the bVII as apart of 'modern music' which for him made key signatures or diatonic harmony maybe non text book in their real life applications.

I could suggest that potentially this song moves this way.

what do you reckon the chord names are rob?

Bridge sounds like C Eb F Bb to me

Bass in the verse:

Gb-------------------------------------
Db-------------------------------------
Ab-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-2--------
Eb------------------------------4--2---

Prechorus is Cm7 Bb and F like you said. (some interesting voicing of Cm7, will try it out soon and see if I can figure it out.

For the second half of the second verse the guitars follow the bass riff (play power chords)
Chorus sounds like Eb - F Eb then the power chord bit of the bass riff.

And that's the whole song more or less.

Here's what I've got of SNAPSHOT so far

bass intro:

Gb-------------------------------
Db-------------------------------
Ab---4-4-2-44-2-4-4-2-44-2--
Eb--------------------------------

Guitar lick (played with delay it sounds like or there are 2 guitar parts there)

eb--------------------11---------------11---------------11-------------
Bb--------13--------------13--------------13---------------13-------
Gb--12--------12---------------12-------------12----------------12
Db-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ab----------------------------------------------------------------------
Eb----------------------------------------------------------------------

Guitars come in: (power chords)

C F# F Eb x 2

then this riff:

eb -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bb -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gb--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Db--6-6------6-6------6-6------6-6------6-6-----6-6------2-2----7-7-7-6
Ab--4-4------4-4------4-4------4-4------4-4-----4-4------2-2----7-7-7-6-
Eb-------7--------7---------7--------7---------7------7--0-0----5-5-5-4-

Second half of 1st verse lick:

eb---------7-------------------6-------------------7-------------------6----------
Bb-----5-----------------5------------------5-------------------5-----------------
Gb--6-------------6-------------------6------------------6------------------------
Db ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ab ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Eb ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

pre chorus (all power chords)

G# G C G# G

Chorus: (SNAPSHOT! you gotta run for the money etc..)

C G Bb Eb

Back into the verse

2nd verse lick: There are actually two guitars here, the part on the Db string is played by a second guitar. The funky/skank bit on the 9th fret of the 1st and 2nd strings sound like they’re played through a wah in a fixed position (cocked like Zakk Wylde).

eb---9---9----------------9--9--------------9--9--------------9--9---------------
Bb---9---9----------------9--9--------------9--9--------------9--9---------------
Gb ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Db -----------9--11--9-----------9--11--9----------9--11--9----------9--11--9--
Ab ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Eb ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That's all I've got for now, more later.

rob
playing a high Bb instead of the Eb sounds good on the bass (last time into next section)BRIDGE

yes chorus is Eb my mistake

if you get how that Cm is voiced can you post it please? I didn't type Cm because I am not sure what it was.

Sammy here you can see that different people 'listen for clues' differently. Some people hear chords, but for me I suck at this and have to look for arpeggiated or riffs or 'single note' situations. This may be the melody line for instance, figure that out, what scale is this likely to be, diatonic theory knowledge (may!) do the rest.

Go the Jew track #10 has an interval of a minor 3rd (root movement)
it's actually a fun track to improv on, G minor and go for it I say
who needs chords anyway :D
