Journey - Don't Stop Believin'

in our latest installment of great music from the great decade of the 80's I feel it appropriate to look at this great American super-group best known great tune.

this is from the Journey Greatest Hits compilation released by Columbia
this tune originally appeared on the 1981 album Escape

key = E major
the bass guitar provides a little Lydian love with the A major chord
listen to how the chord changes occur 'outside' where we may normally expect them
(the and of 4)
this is often called anticipation and was quite common with the 90's era grunge bands
this is a good example of why notation is so greatly superior to TAB

hear how the E hangs over to restart the progression
2nd time around the C#m is replaced with G#m but rhythmically still the same bag

I believe that's pretty much it, don't stop to you nail this great pop tune.

you should be able to use the "Code" tag above to do your tab, this uses a font where every character is the same width and also puts in every space, so you should be able to line things up.

I was going to do an example for you, but don't know exactly what you were trying to show.

(BTW, great choice of song, and don't go all Glee version on us :)
