Can anybody help with this version of Badge, been driving me insane!
I don't trust my ears that well and have tried a few dropped and open tunings but just can't seem to get this to sound right perhaps its the overdubbed organs that are doing something different to the guitars/bass
something in the descending chromatic just doesn't seem to fit and then if it does, it doesn't look right and seems to over complicated .
Sorry if my description is weird but I know theres plenty of guys around who could just put this down accurately first take
I realise Jeff played his chords probably quite differently but there has to be a way to get that lower growl to sound correct
anybody up for it

I'm not entirely sure of your question.
A minor to D are the first two chords. I have notated out the bassline if you want I can email it to you.

There's two guitars in the recording - one in standard (rhythm chords) and one in drop D (riff). You can still play the whole thing in Drop D, just gotta remember to skip the low string.
This is kinda rough cos I haven't touched tabs in years so hopefully it makes sense... Goes something like this:
Short intro thing:
Em A, Em A
Em A, Em A
Verse:
Em A, Em A, Bm
Em A, Em A, Bm
G, Em, F#m, Em
Chorus: (Drop D with rotary and flanger)
E----------------------------------------------------------
B----------------------------------------------------------
G-------------------------------------------------2-------
D-------------2---------0--------0------------2----------
A---0-3/4-----------0--------0------------0-------------
E---------------5---------4---------0---------------------
Verse
Chorus

I agree with Zauklin, E minor to A for this Healy version so the nice arpeggio bridge/breakdown is G,F#,D,A.

Re: Can anybody help with this version of Badge, been driving me insane!
yeah thanks guys, that's pretty much what I had come up with ,
intro
E-G-B-G Achord repeat
verse
Em A Bm
Em A Bm
G ,Em, F#m7, Em9
chorus
G, F#/D, D, A
you have to have the drop D to get the progression to work for the single notes but the chords are ok in standard
I think was getting stuck with the strong bass overtones and the rotary influencing what I was hearing, it just didn't sound deep enough when I was trying it
I'm Playn with this now and it's a lot of fun
a little easier than Gary Moores version but still quite lifting, gets your heart up
has a great bass line under it
