Yeah the arpeggio thing at the beginning (and pasted crudely at the end) is similar to Marty Friedman's 'Holy Wars' solo.

Logic is really awesome. It's pretty easy to get up and running with it, but it's a huge program. It's up to the individual with regards to how deep you want to go with it. There are some great tutorials on youtube that have helped me out a lot.

You must come over for a beer before you go back to work!

That is an epic track 8)

Really enjoyed the playing and tones on that. Why do the built-in amp sims in my copy of Logic not sound like that? :?

Really good stuff.
Don't worry about the recording, it sounds fine for a demo. The music is what counts and it is good.
There is alot of typical shred technique in there, but you do it in a way that it sounds like part of your natural style and you still use alot of well phrased orginal licks so you don't end up sounding like just another shredder, which can get boring fast.
Nice compostion too.
Pity you are up north, It would be good to get together and trade leads breaks and ideas, that is alwways fun.
I'm a Randy Rhoads devotee, I have a clip on this forum where I play the track pretty well (mr crowley second solo) but struggle to record well.
Happy jammin'
