Kiwi Wonderland - Rogs tone clip (non competition)

Post by Rog »

This is a trial for me - I've not tried sharing before.

The mp3 is: Kiwi Wonderland

STOP PRESS! Gelato managed to store it better here: I managed to save it though http://www.owen.net.nz/nzg/kiwi_wonderland.mp3 <<grab it there.
History: This tune was an internet collaboration with Gene Ozpryszko in USA. I laid down a bassline, just noodling a quick chord change pattern I wrote on a sheet, then played in one take directly into my sound card - no metronome - just tapping my feet to keep time.

I used my '72 P fretless, with flatwound Ernie Ball strings.

I had no drum track or anything, so all Gene got was my basslines and he fitted a drum track to it then a couple of layers of guitar. He used a Custom Shop Strat for his lines.

Its a little hairy at the beginning, but settles down quickly enough.

I hope you like what we made - its my first and only attempt at internet recording.

It sounds great Rog. Very impressive that you did the whole thing without a drum track or anything 8)
