Sounds great. I'm going to enjoy a widdle over this tomorrow. Too cold in the shed to do it tonight.

Can't seem to get to YouTube to hit like.slash-ed wrote:Here you go! An earlybird preview for the NZG crew, I won't be posting this one to social channels for a few days yet.Molly wrote:I saw that.slash-ed wrote:Also, can everyone do me a favour and thumbsup the video on Youtube please (thank you if you have already)... some douchebag thumbs downed it already :S
Hated everything I played over it. Might wait for the slow one.
The slower jam that I promised, in the style of the amazing Andy Timmons (I make no claims to being able to play to his level). This one was done using the GT-1000 and is one of my favourite solos that I've written to date. But if you want to get straight to the backing track skip to around 1:30.
Enjoy guys! Hit that Like button for me please
That solo is tasty as fuck mate, wow.
What guitar is that?

I think you might have to click through on the title part to get to Youtube.hamo wrote:Can't seem to get to YouTube to hit like.slash-ed wrote:

Haha thanks, honestly I think it's probably my favourite solo to date. The Andy Timmons vibe is obviously all about feel and conscious note choices, but I also remember that he talks a lot about not sticking just in a box but moving melody lines up and down along strings (rather than across) which is what I tried to take inspiration from in this one. Don't know if it actually sounds like AT at the end of the day, but that philosophy really helped push me to do something a little bit out of my standard pentatonic box!
The guitar is a Strandberg Boden, I've joined the headless life

This was my second pass. Big fuck-up on the first one. Obviously not perfect but it's just a bit of fun. Used the Bassman clone with The Dude overdrive. Amp on about half with the Fryette bringing the volume down.
Cheers Ed.

I'm loving that this is somehow turning into the light blue Strat thread

How are you guys playing along and recording yourselves at the same time? Any tips if I actually manage to ditch the kids long enough to have a go?

I ran my Kat into my interface and then used my phone to record the video and Reaper to record the audio..then used imovie to sync up audio and video.hamo wrote:How are you guys playing along and recording yourselves at the same time? I started the audio track 20 secs before "my" solo bit came in and hit harmonics on all strings with an exaggerated hand movement so I could visual "hear" exactly where to sync um up
