Great work guys, hopefully everything is in the right place and I didn't mess the mix up too much ;) I asked Gelato to step in at the last minute to get this finished as DNA Surfer is still having problems as far as I know...

So the solo order was

1/ Gelato
2/ Tsuken
3/ Polar Bear
4/ Bluesgeek
5/ Slash-ed
6/ Crushing Day
7/ DC

Fantastic effort :) I'll post another one in a few days time, now get stuck into the Floyd challenge - my epic is taking shape, I'm about ready to do a final mix, might stick some vocals on it if you can bear it ;)

Sounds good guys, I'd be interested to know what gear you guys were firing through there.

Mine was the Burns through a treble boosted AC30, it was on it's power soak though, so sounded a bit harsh . No worries, though, still have the desired effect. I think I had a touch of modded TS9 in there as well, maybe some chorus as well.

don't know why unless there is a slight lag issue on your recording? Wierd!

Probably - my computer was probably being retarded as usual. I like whatever "touch ups" you did though BG - I'm fairly noob-ish at recording, I know it generally sounds pretty raw.

PB - Jackson Kelly with Bill Lawrences... Split coils on both hums for the clean bits, full bridge hum on the distorted bits, both through a Sansamp Tri-OD. Those pickups are a horror to record with my crap soundcard - would you believe my bass levels were only about 2-ish?

Mine was the Yngwie Strat > Zoom 9150 (just using the pre-amp, no effects) > computer soundcard > Guitar Rig 2.

I used one of the presets in Guitar Rig called "Blues Amp". It's a "Twang Reverb" (which I suppose is a Fender amp model of some kind), with a Distortion box with all the dials on 12 o'clock in front and a Vox 2x12 cabinet mic'ed off axis with an SM57. And a damn site cheaper than actually buying all that hardware ;)

What they don't want you to know is that all those amp models in GR are just Behringer and Ashton practice amps with webcam microphones sellotaped to them. You can't see inside the program so they just tell what you want to hear ;)
