[sorted]Where to get a Kala u-bass restrung in Wellington?
Hi all... I have a Kala Rumbler U-bass and a pack of Aquila Silver Rumbler strings... anyone know a good place to get them put on? Asked at Alastair's music but they have no experience with U-bass...

There are still some that think the neck PU is moved to accommodate the extra frets which only proves they cannot detect the difference in length of each.

Yeah, I've seen both of the "how to string a u-bass" videos from kala and neither of them show you how to put the strings through the bridge. There's nothing on the end, so I can only guess you put the string through then tie a knot on the underside somehow. All the rest is some complicated stuff with special twists and turns around the peg. Meh. I just want to pay someone who knows how to do it properly.

I don't know this instrument, but is the stringing different to this one?

Well then, can you feed the strings through the bridge and grab them through the soundhole?

Mine had a magnetic backplate that you remove to change the strings. Some Bozo wrote:No hole on the back of mine. Strings just disappear into the mysterious interior...Rog wrote:I don't know this instrument, but is the stringing different to this one?
