As used by Chicory Tip. One of the prototypical mask and costume acts. Slipknot got nothing on these disturbingly scary looking dudes.

Just noticed something. What's the guy on the left gripping? Is that girlie pink panties the dude second from left has on?

Now I really respect those dudes! SlipKnot would never have the guts to front up like the REAL MEN of Chicory Tip.

I just find slapping the most vulgar thing you can do to a bass
I don't like slap bass in general, but I wouldn't go that far. The only covenant I'd have around the slapping issue would be much the same as slide guitar - its fine in small doses, but for smeg's sake - it is supremely boring in excess.

Slap can cause the "Let's go to another pub" reflex within two consecutive songs in most people...

LOL - If I liked it, or it was a serious request...

I've just learned some Frampton for the first time since the '70s. 'Baby I Love Your Way' is tending towards 'clever' with all those chords, but since they're simple chords and since I like the song anyway - that's OK! :)

I'm thinking maybe some Sweet next ...

Wibur Ware
Live at the Village Vanguard Vol 1&2
Sonny Rollins
3 Nov 1957

Wibur's solo on "Softly as in a Morning sunrise".
this is fantastic
great swinging line and huge double bass tone.
It's the real deal.
not lots of notes...just good notes and time

Thats Victor Wooten :) . Check out the tapping and that palm-thumping thing he does. Whoa!

On the subject of bass solos, I was watching a Def Leppard concert on TV one time (must have been a slow day). It came to a point when the singer was introducing the band and they all played a bit of a solo. When it cam to the bassists turn, he stepped up to a keyboard.... :?

Paul Chambers

his solo on "Blues by Five" Mile Davis.

it's very nice, great feel, not to chromatic or out, swings like a mutha.
