Here's the dream team.
71 P Bass & 62 Jazz into my Fender Super Bassman 300 with a Fender Neox 610. It gets the job done :-)

I bought a 300W Ashdown valve amp a few years back

It's quite robust.

Looks interesting! I hope it is like the PF-20T which can operate without a speaker load.

Been getting stuck into my cheapie Bugera SVT a-like, I know the preamp valves are working (valve pre to ss power) because if I take them out the amp stops working. And with them in, it needs to warm up. But I notice no difference with the gain of them turned up or down - sigh....

Its either me or they're just there to be a room heater.

p.s. yes I've changed them for known good valves

surely a Holden 200 VBL has to be in the running here?

Due to building related scenarios it was a good 4 months without using the CTM-300

It’s back now and a joyful thing. Hooray for valve amps and big speakers

Gave the big rig a semi decent push last night

An observation is Valve Amps seem to like plectrum playing. Putting a Compressor in the chain certainly works for me.

I need to get my SS amp to Baja Steve Bartlett for its clean and service. It’s making a horrendous sound when switched on.

I have a friend who gigged with an Ampeg SVT plus backup for years. The moment he no longer had a roadie, they were sold.

Who the hell can afford a GEC KT88 anymore; much less 4 of them?
