Bass pedals
I don't really believe in bass guitars. But secretly, sometimes I do like to play bass, at home alone, where no one can see me doing it and refer to me as a token chick bass player...
Anyway, today I bought an Ibanez SB7 pedal, as a present for my bass which has recently been revived from the dead. It's awesome. It's a synth bass pedal and makes the most coolest of noises, and I now have sore fingers from playing bass for too long haha.
Also, my Ibanez Weeping Demon has a little switch you can flick on it to transform it into a bass wah. Though, I'm not really sure about bass and wah together. It reeks of cheese lol
What are some other fun bass pedals?

My Gallien Krueger Diesel Dawg! Only $180 and it's pretty monstrous distortion. Great fun for loud music and feedback.
Small Clones sound awesome.
EHX Bass Microsynth - next on my list of GAS targets. Coolest sounding thing ever!
I reckon Prunes & Custards sound kinda crap. The only noise you can get is a fart.
EHX Big Muffs can sound cool, but it seems to be a hit and miss thing...you gotta get a good one. I think Sovteks are better?

Re: Bass pedals
I like Bass Wah
the auto-wah on Rose Royce "Car Wash" is good.
Anthony Jackson does a mean pick with flange/phase routine. You haven't played Bass till you've played along to "For the Love of Money".
for my 2c Peter Hook is probably the most copied Bassist if one listens to KIwi
you'll need a chorus pedal to come with in cooee of his sound.
It's hard to listen to Bootsy Collins and not copy him. Mu-Tron
Doug Wimbish did alright on that Living Colour record.Probably to many to list here.
what would the '80s been without chorus and fretless combo?
Larry Graham gave distortion some good taste in GCS. Hair and the Jam are good cuts to check out.

Re: Bass pedals
Hooky's bass is fantastic, not really bass though Oh and Doug Wimbush is the master too, he used some great sounds on the ON-U sound stuff and Tackhead etc....
I'm currently rocking out with my bass most days, I kid myself its for recording practice, but really its because I still love playing bass so much!
As for pedals, I can easily kill 3 hours with my bass and Pod X3, a multitude of extremely silly fun can be had with the bass synth models and stuff in there!

So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

Re: Bass pedals
I used to have a pedal board for my bass ... Tuner -> Fuzz -> Flanger / Chorus -> Limiter/Compressor.
For fuzz I used a Prunes and Custard for a bit which I couldnt get a good sound out of, a hotcake which was awesome till it got nicked, and then a MXR distortion+ which was pretty good.
Used a Boss Bass flanger for a bit, but it broke, so I put a boss CE2 chorus in there instead. sounded pretty neat.
And then a boss LMB2 at the end of the chain which did a good job of evening things out, but in doing so removed all the nice dynamic and sterilised the sound.
I got another Hotcake so I'll use that if I ever need bass fuzz again, but now Im a bit more excited about bass without effects. Just focusing on timing and groove, and sod all that fancy stuff.

Re: Bass pedals
Kev, I agree.
Bass - lead (no wireless!!) - amp ftw!!
Bass effectors are for sissies and guitarist wannabes.

He hit a chord that rocked the spinet and disappeared into the infinite ...
Re: Bass pedals
Overdrive, distortion, fuzz, delay and octave are the only pedals I use with bass. I'm just not into chorus, flangers, envelope filters ect.

Re: Bass pedals
Personally, I like my bass guitar clean. Everything else can be done on synthesisers for me!
Re: Bass pedals
I use Iron Cobra flexi glides. Tried Axis but didn't really like them. I hear good things about DW9000s
