no haven't tried them, but I pulled the trigger last night on a zoom 3000B. I used to have the 3000 guitar and found it to be pretty good (I think you use one don't you Rog?) so I figured it was worth a buy :) I use my POD XT at the moment which is a bit of overkill when all I want is a tiny bit of reverb, chorus on a couple of songs and a bit of growl on one song.
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

I had a bid of $72 that 3000B for its first listing, but have just scored a Digitech BP50 for $80.

Yes, I do have the 3000s Player and it simply does all I'm likely to need for the guitar work that I do. I've never played with the 3000B, but if it is of the same ilk as the guitar version - it should give you some fun.

Now that I'm back playing bass again - I decided I might as well try some of the new gear. I've never been much into bass fx - so it'll all be learning, which as you should know by now - I enjoy doing.

the only thing I didn't like about the 3000 player, was it wasn't particularly intuitive to use. Then I bought a POD and found out the true meaning of unintuitive ;)
