Cleaning Satin Chrome

Post by Karlmalised »

So now that i have a second bass, and gutted my Cort Artisan A4 bass (for pickups and preamp change) so i thought i would clean the bridge and tail peice at the same time. This is an older cort bass so it has a fortress bass. Fairly heavyand finished in satin chrome but its dirty and not as visually appealing. I dont know how to clean it though withouth scratching it, as there is grime/a little mold that wont come off in baking soda solution. Any suggestions?
Cheers

Most methods will scratch it ie. Coke and tinfoil, metal polish etc.
You could try lemon pledge (yeah I know, I know, but actually it can work) or car polish. (Not a cutting compound, just a mild car polish that is fine for clearcoats ie. that doesn't scratch).
