Next steps, sanding and filling.

Particularly proud of my $9 fret pullers ;-)

Nah just didn't like playing, I did a reasonable job of it including epoxy on the fretboard, but after a few 80s pino Palladino moments went back to my fretted p bass :). Wish I'd tried a fret less before I pulled the buggers out.

I see.

My first stringed instrument was double bass and my first bass-guitar was a fretless so this is something I know I like ;-)

I love them, my friend has a Mexican fretless, it's beautiful to play, plus nice tone & sustain. But some guys who've tried it didn't take to the fretless experience at all.

Sort of Jack Bruce like innit. For the first time in 25 years I've actually practised bass two times in as many weeks. Having mostly just picked it up and played the thing when needed. I really need frets.

It went pretty well actually, used plastic wood to fill the slots and levelled out the board a bit. Wound up selling the bass to a friend in need, since I already have my BB fretless

A fretless is one of those things I sometimes feel I should get. But I play so many chords and the frets sure come in handy for that. But I get the feeling there's one in my future.

Fretless chords are doable you just need sharp ears, a lot of practice and hands like dinner plates (unless you're keeping them within a few frets)
