The original version, yes. Definite elements of steam punk, which I can only guess is intentional.

Yes, someone else pointed that out. It looks a bit wide between the A and D strings, but it looks better in some of the other photos.

It's odd that such a major point went unnoticed until the pics hit the net, I wonder if it isn't something to do with the shot.

But If it's some old Japanese heap of junk then perhaps the strings really are out and always have been.

A friend also pointed out that it looks like they put a blank guitar neck on a bass body and drilled the four holes.
