LOOK!!! http://www.j-guitar.com/eng/product_id2484.html

It's even got the rest exactly where I would put it!!! This is... Exactly what I was imagine. That's freakishly strange. First page I got too. Wow
Yes I looked at that one. Emailed the seller and almost wen t for it. The bridge, pickup sponges, thumb rest are all non original. Plus I wanted maple fret board. He was unable to move at all on price also where as the bass I bought, I got a VERY good deal on.
Other than that , yes I agree, that blonde 77 is one epic looking bass. ..looks heavy also...I'd get him to weigh it. Myne is relatively light ...which is important for gigging I think.

Yes, but you have to be realistic. Buying from Japan gives you better bang for your buck than the USA right now, but it's still an unfavorable conversion. But look at eBay and see for yourself the price range for a kid 70s p bass. Not cheap. And rising.

The way to make it ev out is to find a seller who you can haggle a little, get shopping reduced or in my case free (very uncommon) and get a little ...creative ...for want of a better word with excise tax.

I have bought quite a few guitars of vendors on j guitar. Find them to be great to deal with.
If you want something vintage spec without the price tag the look for 70s/80s Greco or other mij fender copies.
The Greco p bass I bought from j guitar was 25000 yen, about $300 nzd and is GREAT.

Despite its lack of originality, and the merciless body drilling of the of thumb rest...oh god, it's still pretty awesome. Why ya go planting active emgs in a 64 p bass though...
