Re: Bass effects!
So I've figured out that Two Filters plus a Wah isn't overkill
I'm also of the opinion I have the best Bass Rig in NZ or at least a set up that sounds good relative to my playing faculty
I do want an Overdrive and an Octaver
And a fretless Precision '70s
And a Hollowbody w/flats
But I think I'm nearly there.

Re: Bass effects!
I had some of those cheap patch cables... I noticed a reduction in noise floor switching to good quality stuff. The best bass rig in NZ deserves it!

I used to get Freedom Cables from Ryan
Where best for instrument, patch and speaker cables?

I'm a big fan of Lava cables, get yourself some kits from Mat at www.tonelounge.co.nz you won't regret it!foal30 wrote:I asked this earlier in the weeksirvill wrote:I had some of those cheap patch cables... Re: Bass effects!
Yeah I did the same - I have a mix of Lava Cables and Planet Waves solderless across my guitar and bass boards. If i could start all again I'd just stick with Lava (much lower profile and more flexible once made).
You can see how damn huge the Planet Waves ends are in the pic of my board above! They're the blueish ones, like the one going into my DI/Preamp. The small silver ended one is a lava cable.

Re: Bass effects!
MS-3 in action for bass if you're interested!
https://soundcloud.com/battleforendor
These were recorded DI, but they are Bass > Boss MS-3 > Mesa Boogie Subway DI Preamp > Interface (then with a cabinet impulse slapped on in Logic)
"Ode" is the bass overdrive on the MS-3 (which I've since relegated after getting a Darkglass B3k clone), and Tacklebox is a patch with flange, delay, reverb etc.
