1. Jerry Jemmott

Just a fantastic Jazz Bass Tone coupled with a righteous feel

2. Kim Deal

Plectrum yes but always sounded quite Round not brittle.

3. Robert De Leo

Rock with some grind. But not to much. He also has very good feel.

4. Johnny Colt

A supporting musician who sounds great. Quite a smooth tone which sits nicely with 2 loutish guitars. Probably flatwounds on everything.

Who are some of your favorites?

I've always loved Colin Greenwood's song-carrying tones, but especially the more recent 73 P Bass + Ashdown or Ampeg rig.

Chester Hansen of Badbadnotgood is another hero of mine. Round, fat, thumpy Gibson bass tones.

Tom Shanahan of Mildlife is also a source of glorious, rich bass tones. I think he's another P bass/Ampeg guy.

My eldest son has played me some Radiohead which I really like in fact I was surprised how much so, the album is called “In Rainbows” ...possibly(?)

Dave Pomeroy - Fretless Bass on David Munyon's Code Name: Jumper album. Such a cool sound. Great songs and an excellent band including Warren Haynes (Allman Brothers Band, Gov't Mule) on guitar.

In Rainbows is my favourite album of all time, without a single doubt. I listen to it every week and have done ever since it came out. 'Weird Fishes' has one of the most beautiful basslines ever constructed, and I am still hearing new layers to all of the other songs on it.

Allen Woody - Gov't Mule and Allman Brothers Band. His intro to Don't Step on the Grass, Sam from the Live at Roseland cd is fabulous.

Still in the process with insurance (the other guys mostly), but we've moved out from that location and have a temporary rehearsal space now. Shame about the old space, but when the rains came back it flooded again, so it was no longer an option unfortunately.

So many times. It's the only album where I've learnt all of the bass, guitar and some of the piano stuff too.
