old jansen bass info please

this old bass belongs to a workmate. He is having trouble finding info on it. Ive given him the section in the Auckland music history book (name eludes me).

Anybody know any details????

Ring the guy at Weta guitars (Mel?) in Wellington... he's got quite a collection of Jansens and Simpsons

I've seen a similar one that was red, but I don't know stuff all about it... I seem to remember it had Pansonic or something like that on the scratchplate under the jansen logo.

Or you could ask Denche :O

Hey!! I had one of those - but in red!!

I've got a piccy of it somewhere - from 1968, I think. I was playing it through a Fountain 2x12 bass combo.
He hit a chord that rocked the spinet and disappeared into the infinite ...
