any suggestions?

Post by naphazoline »

well, i hope i'm not stepping on any purists toes, but i was wondering if anyone could put me on to a good synthetic bass vst.
i know there's "virtual bassist" but i was curious as to what other quality options there are out there.

now, before you go slagging me off for not using the real thing, i must explain, that i'd like nothing better then having a bass player to jam and record with, but due to my shiftwork hours, that's unfortunately not gonna happen. :(

and i don't think i'd be a popular man, if i said to my wife that i was going to buy a bass and rig. ( not after spending the amounts of money that i have on gear this year ) :(

so that's why i'm here, asking for your expert advice.
you could consider it a marital saviour.

You will never get a truely realistic bass sound with a VST instrument, but I have seen a few of them round, I just can't remember the name.

What about just buying a cheap bass and recording it, then playing guitar over top?

it's not that i don't want to, but if i was gonna buy a cheap bass, i'd probably be sleeping on the couch forever, not to mention a down turn in my sex life. :(
