The version of that song that they did with the Gore RSA Symphony Orchestra (IIRC?) is mind blowing ;)

Being that Metallica was the band that got me into music and guitaring in the first place i have to pay homage here. I use to listen to thin air before these guys, i found there sound captivating, at the time. I had never heard anything quite like it, distorted guitars, heavy riffs, singing that wasn't rappiing, it was really quite something. Probably why I’m a Black Metal freak now. Anyways:

Creeping Death
Orion
Fade to Black
To Live is to Die

I could sit here naming and naming but anything pre-black album i'll listen to enjoyably, after cliff died they just started getting all depressed and losing it.

I'm quite partial to Pat Boone's version of "Enter Sandman" - much nicer than the original :D

Pah, at least Megadeth had some guitarists that could play a decent solo, Kirk Hammet is awful.
The older I get, the more disappointed in myself I become.

Agreed. Marty pwns all. Only in the last couple of years did I realise how bad Kirk is. Pretty embarassing looking back at it now that I pratically thought he was god....
