There are still some that think the neck PU is moved to accommodate the extra frets which only proves they cannot detect the difference in length of each.

Stumbled on this photo on Facebook over the weekend
That's pretty much the reason I started wanting to play guitar as a young kid!
Flying V, Marshalls, looking cool, being Michael Schenker!! what more could a kid want

Re: Your Top 5 guitarists/influences
I've been inspired by many of the above, but I am not good enough to claim to be influenced by them.

Re: Your Top 5 guitarists/influences
I use the term 'influenced' very lightly - as I try not to sound like anybody, and have never been a super-disciplined learner of people's stuff.
The Edge
Mark Knopfler
Joe Satriani
John Williams (classical guitarist, not the movie composer)
SRV at a stretch, but not sure I've brought anything of his to my playing that I didn't get from general blues listening.
I reckon I'm more influenced by songwriters than guitarists - so a wide range of songs by U2, Beatles, Metallica and so on have influenced me more than techniques by the guitarists in those bands.

They keep telling me tone is in the fingers, but I have yet to see a "look at my fingers" thread.

Re: Your Top 5 guitarists/influences
Biggest influences are the records mom had in the house at the time I began playing and began listening to looking for guitar licks to steal (I began trying to play lead instead of songs. Bad move but...). It may not always be the stuff I try to play, but it is the stuff most in my bones kind of thing and seems to show when doing my own thing.
Wish You Were Here. Pink Floyd
Physical Graffiti. Led Zeppelin
Love over Gold. Dire Straights
Frampton Comes Alive. Peter Frampton
Some old Santana record and also a Joe Walsh one.
Step dad had blues stuff by Freddie King etc. A work mate gave me a tape with SRV, Roy Buchanan, and Johnny Winter. They were the next influences. Metal and [trying to] shred etc came a few years later. The guitarist I was most impressed with back then was Gary Moore before his blue stuff.
