It's a good song, but I'm having a hard time pushing it into the Killer category.Polar Bear wrote:Title aside, I dig it.
Cheerful ditty category, but it's not making me all

Foos at Vector on the Echoes, Lies tour was the best show I've ever seen.
That was an epic gig.
Self Titled is fantastic yes. as was Wasting Light.
There is nothing left to lose is one of my favs actually, but everyone seems to hate it

Was anyone at the Supertop gig? Where Dave swears that was the loudest audience he's ever heard. Remember being up front for that and they were literally covering their ears and genuinely looked to be in pain
Loving it so far

Yeah I was at that one too. Had my wife with me and the crush was too much, not to mention the noise. We were a bit further back at Vector (but right in front of the acoustic stage, which was cool).

Oh and I'd go...
1. The Colour and the Shape
2. Wasting Light
3. There Is Nothing Left to Lose
4. In Your Honour
5. One By One
6. Foo Fighters
7. Echoes
I'd only class the first 2 as front to back classics though. For me they've always been more of a great singles band.

Re: Foo Fighters - Auk/CHCH February
I'd go:
1.The Color and the Shape.
Then I'd go listen to something else.
I used to count myself as a fan but I'm tired of the FF formula. It's got to the point where I can hear the first 4 bars of a new FF song and I know exactly how the rest of it will sound. Dave has about 4 songs, everything he does is a variation of those 4 songs. Then I watched Back and Forth and saw parts of Dave and the way he was with his band that I really didn't like.
I left the Western Springs concert about half way through, Dave and his ever expanding ego just grates now and his constant "look at how awesome I am, I'm Dave Grohl and I rule!" stuff is tiring to watch and over-done.

Dug the self-titled and Colour & Shapen - still two CD's I keep in my car. Was different to hear back then, because it was distinctly post-grunge in that mid-late 90's phase. The stuff afterwards is mostly miss with the odd hit, to me.

He's admittedly a bit of a dictator, but the others seem cool with it.Danger Mouse wrote:Then I watched Back and Forth and saw parts of Dave and the way he was with his band that I really didn't like.

I like his persona because he's always seemed to me like he's really enjoying playing rock music to thousands of people.

Re: Foo Fighters - Auk/CHCH February
Saucy is on to it, it was the dictator stuff. I would debate just how cool the rest of the band are with it, some handle it better than others, but it was clear it is Dave's band and Dave gets what he wants, always. There's a couple of moments in the doco where that is most obvious and the way he delivered the message to the other members involved, I thought really sucked. Seen evidence of it live too.TmcB wrote:Danger Mouse wrote:Then I watched Back and Forth and saw parts of Dave and the way he was with his band that I really didn't like.

Re: Foo Fighters - Auk/CHCH February
this is the best thing dave has written in a long time imo....listen to it LOUD! def a Friday night amping up beer drinking song!

actually I forgot to include Probot in my last post. It seems dave cranks out the goodness in all his side projects and then just pumps out the "stock rock" in the foos, like he cant be bothered actually taking that band in any new directions. just my 2c
