Gah! My thumbpick is only good for downstrokes... is that normal? Watched a couple youtoobs... and I suspect they only downstroke the bass notes in Travis picking? The plectrum in me rebels against this.
Is there a thumbpick designed for alterate directions? Or should I just man up?
I have a few spares on the Bummblees, if you want I could post one for you to try.

Just an update I guess. I've been working on after you've gone (paul yandell's arrangement) and it's coming along well, much faster than the others. I can finally get some satisfaction from playing through an entire piece.
Probably the best I can recommend for starting out with this style.
