Neil Young
I'm going thru a real Neil Young phase at the moment, loving his work, got Weld cranking at the moment, loving his Tweed Deluxe almost destructing guitar tone, got me gassing again for an LP with P90s

Gotta love a bit of Neil Young, really got into him when he was headlining BDO, he can still rock
Old Man is my favourite of his, love the emotion.

Re: Neil Young
Get out the film 'Dead Man' (the Johnny Depp one). The soundtrack is all great Neil Young guitar jizz.

Re: Neil Young
I read somewhere recently that Neil Young simply does not care a damn about whether people like his music, his lifestyle, his opinions or him. He just gets up and does whatever he wants, takes the money and goes home and that's all that matters to him. The article suggested that he'd actually have a lower opinion of someone telling him they enjoyed his music than he would if they said he was crap. That's pretty rare in our industry, IMO.
He hit a chord that rocked the spinet and disappeared into the infinite ...

I like Neil's ethos, that's a tough call getting past the unlike thing.

Re: Neil Young
In regards to your first two sentances Rog, I'd say that it's actually quite common for artists, especialy those of Neil's generation to put out what they want, and couldn't give a rats if people liked it or not... more often than not it was the record companies who had the ultimate say on what got released and what didn't.Rog wrote:I read somewhere recently that Neil Young simply does not care a damn about whether people like his music, his lifestyle, his opinions or him. But I would agree that it would be rare to have the attitude in the thirs sentance. Odd, and doesn't sound like Neil Young, unless he felt like being an arse that day. Are you sure you weren't reading about Paul Young?

Hurdy Gurdy.... some how... and I'm not entirely certain how mind you, an instrument that sounds like someone has shoved a nest of angry hornets into a goose with a kazoo bill and is randomly slapping the poor creature with an accordion.... Sounds amazing.
