It is with a heavy heart that I bring you this news. In case you haven't heard, Alvin Lee, smokin' guitarist from Ten years After, passed away earlier today.
WITH GREAT SADNESS WE HAVE TO ANNOUNCE THAT
ALVIN UNEXPECTEDLY PASSED AWAY EARLY THIS MORNING
AFTER UNFORESEEN COMPLICATIONS FOLLOWING A ROUTINE SURGICAL PROCEDURE.
WE HAVE LOST A WONDERFUL MUCH LOVED FATHER AND COMPANION,
THE WORLD HAS LOST A TRULY GREAT AND GIFTED MUSICIAN.
JASMIN, EVI AND SUZANNE
His was one of the stand-out performances at Woodstock. You truly are Goin' Home, brother.
Having copped some of his (Ten Years After) licks in the past, I'll be playing some blues in his memory tonight. RIP Mr. Lee.

The most underrated performer at Woodstock in my opinion. I had never even heard of this guy until I bought a Woodstock DVD a few years back, and when I saw ten years after I was like 'what the heck?, why is this dude not more famous?' Way ahead of his time.
