Some of the tribute band names are great. Like the all-girl Lez Zeppelin or my personal favourite, Orchestral Maneuvers In The Darkness.

Hah, coincidence I'm sure but The Penetrators were a NY band in the late 70s punk era and Buster Hymen was another punk era character back in the day. Can't recall if he was from the UK or one of the guys around the old Auckland punk scene. :D

Wasn't everybody? I was in in a high school band called that, too.

I later learned that the name was also used occasionally by Rose Tattoo.
"Vince, have you ever tried playing an expensive bass?" - Polarbear.
"And isn't that the finest acoustic bass guitar feedback solo you've ever heard?" - Billy Moose.

The Gaze.

We butter our bread with butter.

+ Most grindcore band names. I like names that you'd be embarrassed to say to your parents. My death metal band a few years ago was Molest The Episocpate haha.

I'm not a fan of this one (I like the music, just not the name) at all, but I kinda like the fact that some guys are so fucked in the head and don't give a shit that they called their band Prostitute Disfigurement.
Also, Kill Whitney Dead was pretty cool, though the are obviously irrelevant now.

Successful band then?

Not being a 13 year old child, I no longer get how names chosen purely for offensiveness are anything other than childish.

I thought sexpest was pretty funny, and I'm sure it's been used before, but I was in a covers band, more of a backing band, called Dixie normous.
