He's playing in Auckland soon.
The older I get, the more disappointed in myself I become.

I can recommend (via YouTube) the album Dust Bowl and bits of the album he did with Beth Hart especially 'I'll take care of you'.

This is pretty good too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1_6yCHnSI4

Lots of people seem to be a bit sniffy about JB. He's paid his dues well and truly and has just come up with a 'model' that works and allows him to be successful in an industry that's long since lost interest in actual talent.

JB is one on those players ive really wanted to like, a younger generation guy flying the blues flag. Hes done some good tracks like a cover of give me one reason with robert cray, features on the crossroads festivile alot. Ive tried a few times to get into his tunes but i cant, he over plays everything. Check out on youtube when they induct freddie king, he plays with zz top and derek trucks, the look on trucks face when JB starts his solo says it all. I think less is more, theres just no pharsing.

He dose like his mr smith from the matrix look tho

I'll have a look for that. Cheers.

I know what you mean. I've a few JB albums but don't really listen to them. Ultimately it's down to the songs not being that strong rather than his playing. I think his manager has a mercenary approach: Just keep pumping out album after album after album. Perhaps it's a case of quantity over quality. His manager did make some vulgar statement about how they were going to make millions and millions but I suppose that's the mind-set you need in a manager.

Nice track, thanks for linkage :)
Sniffy piffy... You either like it or you don't, either one is personal choice. I like what I've heard, and man do I want to build a fuzzface after that track!

Man, Loving The Ballad of John Henry. I get caught up with his playing and forget how good his voice is.
Still a bit of cheese in all his stuff but I still like it.
