What a shame, I really liked his music.

Re: John Renbourn
My mum had the albums he did with Bert Jansch and I heard them many times in my growing up years - great player.

Time to dust off the John Renbourn vinyl.
And I see the guitarist for The Stooges has left the building too.

Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

James Williamson is still alive and kicking! Did you mean Ron Asheton? He passed away in 2009. His brother Scott (the drummer) passed away a year ago.slowfingers wrote:Time to dust off the John Renbourn vinyl.

I just checked and you are correct. It is a news tag at the bottom of the Renbourn story. Never occurred to me it would be 6 years old.robnobcorncob wrote:James Williamson is still alive and kicking! Re: John Renbourn
I still remember a winter's evening when I first heard his Faro Annie album.
I was in a small, 2nd hand record shop in Newtown (Sydney) and I was curious about what the music would sound like so the guy working there said "Ok, I'll just play it for you" and it was just... magical. I can still remember the feeling of being totally overcome by the music. And that sitar on the old folk songs. So fascinating. I had to buy that album right then and there.
