Pink Floyd Experience - any good?

So, these guys are touring soon and playing Animals, Dark Side, and Wish you were here in their entirety.

From what I've read and seen on YouTube they sound pretty good, but here's the thing... tickets to this gig are between $100 and $120!

I'll never get to see the real thing and these guys are apparently pretty close to it. Anyone seen these guys play before in the flesh (pun intended)? If so, are they worth the premium ticket price?

Buy a ticket using some of that counterfeit money. Seems fitting.

They are stunning mate, they really are. They nail all the Floyd songs incredibly well. Well worth it.
I wasn't gonna catch them this time around, but because they're doing Animals, my fave album, I've changed my mind. :D :D :D

I've seen them too: excellent. Price is steep for a covers band though...

Seems like a really good price for 3 albums of live performance with all the visuals etc!!

They are very good; if you're a big Floyd fan they're worth seeing once atleast.

Hmmm everyone raves about them, but we walked out when we went to see them in Sydney about 8 years back. Might have been an off day, but I thought the whole experience was lifeless, the guitarist was struggling and the whole thing was disappointing. Wasn't cheap then either.

So even worse than the original then... definitely avoid!

I have not seen them, but have had other people rave about them - but they are not musos or guitarists. Like all things it will depend on your expectation. Somebody once said happiness is a measure of the gap between expectations and reality. I find the most reliable way of altering happiness is to lower expectations; reality is much harder to influence.

I saw an ABBA tribute once (work social club thing) and they were horrendously bad - my workmates loved it -because they didn't expect as much.

I watched them do a proper dress rehearsal once (I'm a friend of a friend etc) and they were fantastic.

How much of a 'tribute' are they? do the singers sound like the Pink Floyd guys or just good singers delivering the songs?

I guess I'm just repeating what others have said: I've heard a lot of very good reports. And $100-120 with production value is pretty good. If it was pink floyd, you'd be paying $300. Ish. :)

Well, the woman that sings the big vocals on whatever the DSOTM song was sounds just like the record. The guys sounded realistic, but I was more interested in how they'd handle the arrangements.

There are heaps of people in the band so they can do all the multitracked guitars just like on the records. I think they have something like three guitarists, two drummers, a couple of keyboard players and so on. So it's not just some pub cover band.

And the light show is pretty good too, as you'd expect.
