Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

I was wondering if anyone would have that association. When everyone else was Jackson/Hamer/Kramer/BC Rich etc, Billy was rocking away on his White Falcon in the vids for songs off Electric. Took me a long time to find out the album is pretty much all Les Paul into a Marshall
The older I get, the more disappointed in myself I become.

I think that might have been Rick Rubin's doing. Apparently he wanted Billy's guitars to sound as close as possible to Back in Black. Billy's sound on the earlier session they did for Electric are much more like his guitar sound on Love.

Yep, from memory Rick was in a big AC/DC phase and had wanted to do an album like that for a while, The Cult presented the perfect opportunity. The first iteration of Electric was White Falcon, but Rick wanted to go with the well-trodden path of the big rock ingredients when he took over.

Been a while since I read about it, but I think Billy was already struggling with the White Falcon. As they grew more popular, the stages got bigger and they were playing louder, he really started fighting with feedback so didn't fight to move to an LP.
The older I get, the more disappointed in myself I become.

I am surprised I am the only one who associates the Telecaster with Roy Buchanan. He mastered the Telecaster. They called him the world's greatest unknown guitar player.

Or indeed any member of the Hellecasters. Glad to see Lange get a namecheck at last.
